Aluminum Bearing Bike Pedals

I usually ride clipped in (Time Xpresso on most of my bikes, Crank Brothers Egg Beaters on the rest) and decided to temporarily not clip in while recovering from elbow reconstruction surgery following a crash. I wanted to remove any chance of falling over while getting on or off the bike, so I tried these Rock Bros platform pedals on a few of my bikes. I am astonished at how close it feels to being clipped in. It just takes a slight change in your pedal stroke - more of a horizontal back and forth motion instead of circular. I'm amazed at how connected I feel to the bike this way and may keep a few sets on my bikes even after I am fully recovered.
