The origin story of ROCKBROS

A Starting Point-From the sky Road to Global Cycling

I am David, founder of ROCKBROS.

In 2007, one epic ride changed everything for me. In 30 days, I crossed 14 snow-capped peaks, each over 4,000 meters high, and completed 2,200 kilometers along the extreme route in China, from Sichuan to Tibet.

Beyond the breathtaking scenery, I saw a harsher truth: cycling enthusiasts lacked access to affordable and reliable gear. Too many riders were held back from even starting their journey of self-discovery.

The origin story of ROCKBROS

“Why can't quality gear be accessible to everyone?"

At that moment, I realized: true cycling freedom should never be shackled by equipment.

That was the origin of ROCKBROS. We believe cycling is freedom, exploration, and a right every person should enjoy—whether you are in the streets of Tokyo or on a rugged Andean trail, whether you are chasing the wind in a city or conquering a personal challenge.

Today, together with designers who share our passion for cycling, we continue to develop innovative products that bring outdoor adventures to millions of riders. And it all started with those mountains I once faced.

We never stop asking: Who and what is waiting on the other side of the next peak?

Those nights crossing snowy mountains taught us one thing: perseverance is the path to far horizons.

Believing that beauty grows through connection, we host a series of unique events worldwide and operate our own RSCC Cycling Club to unite cycling enthusiasts everywhere.

Ride With Us

Since 2014, ROCKBROS has launched the “Graduation Ride to Tibet”, a public-benefit cycling initiative for college students. Each year, we select eight members for our “Dream Team”, who undertake a 20-day extreme challenge: riding 2,200 kilometers over treacherous mountain passes to reach Lhasa, seeking their own life answers along the way.

To date, we have sponsored over 100 students to achieve their dream journeys. The Graduation Ride has become a lasting part of the ROCKBROS gene. Today, we continue this legacy through the RSCC Club, inviting riders everywhere to join us on new journeys.
